South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest has revealed that the Best Hip Hop act award he won at the 2015 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards which held last night in South Africa is his 20th award despite having just one album
.He made the revelation on his Twitter while sending a shout out to his fans a day after the glittering awards event. Cassper Nyovest won in 3 categories at the 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards and also walked away with 5 awards at the 2015 Metro FM awards in South Africa.
He has also won 7 awards at the last two editions of the South Africa Hip Hop awards, winning 4 in 2013 and 3 in 2014 among others. Nyovest’s debut album, Tsholofelo was released on July 18, 2014 with the track, ‘Gusheshe’ and ‘Doc Shebeleza’ as the lead singles. He defeated Nigerian duo of Olamide and Phyno as well as Youssoupha and K.O to emerge the Best Hip Hop act at the 2015 edition of MAMA.
