The Akwa Ibom state governorship tribunal today nullified the April 11 governorship election in 18 out of the 31 Local government areas in the state, citing irregularities in the manner in which the elections were conducted.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, yesterday, explained to an Abuja Federal High Court how the former Imo State Governor, Mr. Ikedi Ohakim, paid for a property he is currently living in Asokoro District in Abuja with cash of $2,900,000 (equivalent of N270 million) in one day.

Police killed Lekki Free Trade zone boss Disu- Community members

Two Arik Planes Clash In Lagos

Following the incident, the two planes had their wing tips damaged and have been grounded to allow further investigation into the incident.  Reacting to the incidence, spokesman of the airline, Mr. Adebanji Ola, said in a statement: “Two of our aircraft, Boeing 737-800NG were this afternoon (yesterday) involved in a wing-tip brush at the General Aviation Terminal, GAT, of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.  “One of the aircraft, 5N-MJP, was marshalled out of the ramp for a scheduled flight, when its wing brushed that of another aircraft, 5N-MJQ, parked on the ramp.  “There were no incidences as the safety of passengers was not jeopardized. We have grounded the two aircraft and are looking into the incident,” Ola said.
