Alison-Madueke No-Show At UK Court On Monday

Diezani Alison-Madueke
The highly anticipated appearance of embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources in the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke at Court 10 of the Westminster Court, did not take place today as widely reported.

There were reports Mrs. Alison-Madueke appeared in court today accompanied by her mother, Beatrice Agama.
Diezani was arrested on Friday in the United Kingdom by the National Crime Agency, for alleged bribery and corruption-related charges.
A twitter user @sampiranty had, relying on an email from the court, “confirmed” that the ex-minister reported in court at 10am on Monday.
However, another tweet by blogger and socio-political commentator @ogundamisi, claimed that Alison-Madueke was not at the Westminster Magistrate Court.
Ogundamisi said he left the said court around 3pm, without any signs of the former minister on Monday.
Sam Piranty, who said he relied on the account of the court’s email, however, later apologised for the “confusion”, adding that the Clerk of the court had clarified that the ex-minister was not in court on Monday.
.@sampiranty great, makes sense now with the court Clark telling me her Diezani’s name was mentioned in a ‘related case’

This also means #Diezani does not have to appear in court but IS entitled too #Nigeria

Apologies for confusion, court saying one thing, clerk saying another, but we know that the application was made today #Nigeria
