Anxiety has enveloped supporters of Senator Emmanuel Azu Agboti, who
represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District on the platform of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following rumours that he is planning to
defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Agboti, a major stakeholder in Ebonyi State, who hails from Afikpo,
however, said he was still negotiating with APC and expressed surprise
that his rumoured defection was making headlines.
“I don’t know why my case is making headline. If anybody wants to
defect, I don’t think it is a big deal. I am still negotiating and when I
am ready, I will call for a press conference; but for now, I am still
in PDP”, he declared.
Rumours were rife last week, within the PDP family, especially those
from Ebonyi South that the former acting deputy national secretary of
PDP, senator was planning to dump the party for APC.
