IG Arase Leads Police Team On Condolence Visit To The Awolowos

The leadership of Nigeria Police led by Inspector General, Solomon Arase, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Obafemi Awolowo in Ikenne, Ogun State over the death of Hannah Awolowo, who passed away on September 19.

The IG was accompanied by the Ogun Police Commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali; his Lagos counterpart, Fatai Owoseni; Commissioner of Police Cooperative, Dorathy Gimba; Police Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bisi Kolawole; Abiodun Alabi; and Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi among others to the Ikenne home of the deceased.
Mr. Arase in his condolence message stated that the death of Mrs. Awolowo has created a big vacuum that could only be filled by God. He described the deceased as a special woman who has served God, mankind and Nigeria diligently in all areas.
He promised the Awolowo family adequate security before, during and after the burial rites of their matriarch, assuring further that all hands will be on deck for effective policing of Ikenne town and Ogun State during the ceremony.
Mr. Arase also reaffirmed the police’ commitment to tackle crimes and social vices in the country.
The Inspector General of Police and his team were received by the children of the deceased.
Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, the eldest daughter of the late HID Awolowo, Omotola Oyediran, appreciated the Inspector General of Police and other police officers for their concern and support.
