The Kano State Government has launched a biometric time and attendance machine for monitoring workers’ punctuality in their various places of work.
While performing the official test-run of the machine in his office, the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Naiya, in the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria said that the government was seriously concerned over workers’ nonchalant attitude to work.
“This is what informed the decision of the Kano State Government to establish `Servicom’,” the statement said.
It said the installation of the machine was the first of its kind in the history of the state and appealed to civil servants to imbibe the culture of reporting to work at the stipulated time and close as scheduled.
